The $199 Kindle Fire tablet-computer is a great gift for when you want to tell someone “I love you, but I don’t iPad love you.”

I’m TOTALLY DOWN for the jokes, but we bought a Kindle Fire and I have to admit that we like it better than the ipad. The only difference is the lack of camera (which I would never use on an ipad) and the cost. To be fair, we use it for “fun” stuff - email, internet, watching movies, etc. - and not for serious work stuff so maybe that is where the ipad really shines. But for our purposes, this is great and the cloud is SO MUCH EASIER to use for Kindle. Single click and your content is streamed up/down and it takes seconds to call up entire albums or books. 

So… yeah. I have no point. Except that if you’re thinking about it, I would recommend it. You just have to be prepared for the jokes about how you’re not cool enough for an ipad.

I love mine and have it customized, to change its factory look.
