I hear lots of parents interacting with misbehaving two and three year olds. And I hear lots of ‘please’es and ‘I think it might be a good idea to’es and see a lot of kids continue to misbehave.

I am all for improved parenting, but sometimes these kids are in danger and/or being very disruptive….

Yesterday, Shane and I witnessed a gentleman removing a small girl from a restaurant because she was having a melt down. He told her she was disturbing the other people, and when they returned she was calm.
I wanted to buy their lunch / tell them how much I appreciated it……but thought it might be too weird.

So I’ve been looking…..on craigslist….at a few local shelters/pounds. Signed up for a few rescues and transportation groups.

But as I type this, my other furry assholes (the two ferrets I’ve rescued, if this is news to any new followers) play around my feet and tear up my room during an all too few moment of cage-less freedom…… and I realize……I’m not ready for a dog right now.

All too often dogs are rehomed or given to the pound because their owners “don’t have time for them anymore”. And while my fur kids get their needs met with excellent food and health care……what they need more of is my time.

So if they aren’t getting enough of my time already…..what makes me think I can give another animal an equal share?

School is out for the summer and the Party Bus job is stepping up. College World Series coming soon and I’m going to be driving 12 hour days.

Youngest Kid is graduating from High School mid term next year, will probably be gone a lot this summer and Oldest Kid is on a waiting list for an apartment…..so pretty soon I’m going to have an empty house.

It would be selfish of me to take on another animal and no one be here to give it the attention it needs.

This gives me a serious case of the sads.

I’m always surprised. I know I think I’m hot, but it’s a very weird thing when someone else thinks so, too. I pretty much never believe them.

I’ll look at myself in the mirror and think “Okay…..I’m not too bad”…..and then I see a picture of myself and think “Something MUST be wrong with my perception of shit because EWWWW!”

The dog has an issue where his esophagus doesn’t work right; it doesn’t get food in there right because it’s all stretched out and stuff. So what dog owners (and cat owners and I guarantee you the cat ones look goofier) do is make a highchair and feed them upright so gravity can be a hero. It’s also really cute.

The disorder is called Megaesophagus.

Here is a cat with the same disorder in his eatin’ sock.

Sometimes I wish I didn’t have a smartphone so if I got bored in the bathroom I’d have to grab a shampoo bottle and play the alphabet game like in the old days.

Am I the last hold-out? I never take my phone into the bathroom UNLESS I am in the bath tub and need it…

I was reading hyperbole and a half’s blog entry explaining their experience of depression and decided to make another sketchy comic based on my experiences with anxiety, which is another mental illness I think people tend to misunderstand quite frequently

Hopefully this will be of use to some people - whether they suffer from anxiety themselves or if they just want to know more about it

This made me cry. My anxiety was so bad yesterday, my friends got annoyed with me. They don’t understand. I wish I could change. I wish I wasn’t like this.

This. Also, if you have someone in your life who suffers from depression, and you haven’t seen the hyperbole and a half post linked to above, it’s the most spot-on description of depression I think I’ve ever seen. Check it out.

I end up even telling myself some of the things said on the “after the 4th or 5th time” page. I feel like it truly is all my fault. I can’t understand how sometimes I can choose to be so happy and truly BE happy and then other times be completely anxious, depressed, insecure and self loathing for no reason at all. I can go from being confident and content to being needy and helpless.
